Before and After School Care

Have your child participate in a City of Surrey's Before and After School Care program! Programs are designed for children in kindergarten to grade 7 and kids will engage with others in their community, learn and play through exploration and discovery, and be active within a safe environment. How to Register

Please contact the recreation facility in your community to register. 

Cloverdale

Newton

North Surrey

When registering, families have the option to choose up to five days per week of Before and/or After School Care for the length of the school year. Days will be non-transferable and the chosen day(s) will be scheduled and charged for the duration of the program (eg. If registered for Mondays/Wednesdays, registration will be for every Monday/Wednesday in the school year). Refunds are not given if your child does not attend the program.

Cloverdale

  • Before School Care: 7am to first bell
  • After School Care: School dismissal to 6:00 pm

Newton/North

  • Before School Care: 7am to first bell
  • After School Care: School dismissal to 5:30 pm

After School Care start times are adjusted on school early dismissal days. There is no Before and After School Care offered on SD36 Professional D Days or school holiday closures. Please check with your local recreation facility for Fun Zone Camps offered during school closures.

Cloverdale

  • Before School Care is $8.26 per day
  • After School Care is $18.88 per day

Newton/North

  • Before School Care is $8.26 per day
  • After School Care is $16.52 per day

Monthly payments are on a non-equalized monthly schedule and  due on the first of each month and the cost is based on the number of program days that month (eg. If there are 21 school days in September, you will be charged the daily rate x 21.)

Unfortunately, the Before and After School Care program cannot accommodate drop in/flexible care or weekly changes. For occasional care, please see the Surrey Recreation Guide for after school programs or visit the Child Care Options website.

Financial Support 

Child Care Subsidy is available to assist eligible families with the cost of licensed child care. For information on child care subsidy visit the Ministry of Children and Family website
