Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project
As part of the Mayors’ Council development of the Regional Transportation plan consensus has been reached to replace the existing 76-year old Pattullo Bridge with a new 4-lane bridge. This direction was based on earlier Phase 1 and 2 technical work and public feedback during consultation. The new 4-lane bridge will allow for future expansion to 6-lanes based on regional demand and growth. The new 4-lane bridge will provide improvements over the existing bridge addressing foundation scour challenges and delivering a seismically resilient structure. Bridge users will also benefit from wider travel lanes to avoid truck straddling of lanes and much improved cycling and pedestrian facilities.
TransLink in partnership with key stakeholders is now progressing the design, planning and commencement of high priority rehabilitation and seismic works required to keep the existing bridge safe and operational until the new bridge can be delivered.
