Current City of Surrey Employee

To view and apply to job postings, you will need to log into your PeopleSoft account from a City computer and/or City mobile device.

All City facilities have computers that are available for employees to use for work related purposes. If a computer station isn't available or easily accessible, contact humanresources@surrey.ca. The Employment Team will be able to assist you with your job application.

We anticipate PeopleSoft will be available from anywhere, at any time and from any device by Spring 2017.

Application assessment

We use the qualifications listed on the job posting to assess your application. We'll further consider your application only if you meet the stated qualifications on the posting.

Meeting the minimum qualifications of the posting does not automatically indicate you'll be short-listed for the position posted. This is because we assess all of our applicants on a competitive basis.

Also be aware many positions at the City of Surrey require criminal record checks. See the job posting for details.

Equal opportunities

We're a multicultural community with a diverse workforce. As an equal opportunity employer, we'll choose you as an employee based on your

  • knowledge,
  • ability,
  • experience,
  • education, and
  • skills related to the position.

Firefighting positions

How to apply to become a Career Firefighter

We only accept Career Firefighter applications when we have a Career Firefighter position posted in our career opportunities. When a position is posted, we strongly recommend that you apply online.

Also keep up to date with the Firefighter Career and Volunteer Opportunities information from the Surrey Fire Service and learn about their hiring process.

Student recruitment

We have opportunities for students at The City of Surrey May through August. Watch for our summer student job postings in early December each year.

Also, the Human Resources Development Canada student-hiring program, considers sponsorship of students between 15 and 30 years old. The program will consider you if you're

  • currently enrolled in secondary school, college or university on a full-time basis, and
  • returning to full-time studies in the next school term.

Now that you know how to apply, explore your current opportunities  and create the city of tomorrow, today.
