Business Professionals

Play a key role using your strong technical, management and leadership skills. Business professionals work across all departments across the City.

Finance and Information Technology (IT)

Help us serve Surrey's residents in the most efficient way possible. This department's scope is large, and includes numerous roles, including accounting, purchasing and finance. In Finance and IT, you'll work with

  • troubleshooting technical issues,
  • the newest application upgrades, and
  • security, business processes and technology.

Firefighters and Fire Management

Protect the lives and property of Surrey citizens as a Volunteer or Career Firefighter. This team specializes in

  • fire investigation,
  • prevention,
  • public education, and
  • behind-the-scenes inspections.

Inspectors and By-law Officers

Maintain municipal and provincial bylaws, regulations and legislation. Inspectors and by-law officers also conduct investigations and provide security and education to the community.

 

Labourers and Equipment Operators

Work in either Engineering or Park Operations to beautify and develop the city by maintaining streets, utilities, parks, park facilities and roadways.

 

Natural Sciences

Preserve the natural beauty of Surrey and its surroundings in the natural sciences.

Planners

Plan BC’s fastest growing community. We need strong community planners at all levels within the organization, from entry-level planning technicians to management.

Recreation and Sport

Provide activities to Surrey communities with temporary and part-time work in the Community & Leisure Services department.

Trades

Enable access to the latest equipment and technology to allow our numerous facilities in the community to function in a safe working environment. We're offering hands-on opportunities with the City of Surrey’s facilities team in the trades roles.

Types of Employment

Regular: Full-time or part-time positions with a benefits package.

Auxiliary: Employment on an on-call basis. It can mean a fairly set work schedule. Varied hours, no guarantee of hours.

Temporary: Shorter term, full-time positions of no more than 6 months in duration.
