Title: Surrey Heritage Advisory Commission - Local History Book

Description

Request for Proposals

Project Background
The City is seeking Proposals from qualified Proponents to provide research and writing services for the production of a local history book. The Surrey Heritage Advisory Commission ("SHAC") has proposed a heritage book project to research, write and publish a local history book on the growth and development of the City of Surrey as a legacy project to commemorate Canada’s 150th Anniversary.

Scope of Services
The Proponent is to research and write a local history book on the growth and development of the City of Surrey. This includes selecting archival photographs, maps and other graphic elements, as well as the writing of sidebar features to enhance the narrative text. The publication will be in keeping with the heritage vignette, highlight and graphic style of recent local history books, rather than a detailed, chronological recounting of facts and dates favoured by past local history publications.
